Our Official Group Name and Logo!

Image
Kristina and I came up with our group name by take the first letters of our first names and attaching studios to it, which formed "KB Studios". My partners and I came up with this name because we took 3D Studio Art in 11th grade together. My partner and I created our group logo by using a website named Canva. We used colors such as black, bright red, and white to decorate our logo. We used these colors because it gives our logo an eerie look. Also, the bright red resembles blood and violence, which is the look that my partner and I are going for since our two-minute film opening's genre will be thriller.

We chose this movie because it was a thriller/horror and genre we want to use for our 2-mintue film opening is a thriller. There are five different sections to this gerne case study PowerPoint. In section 1, which was my part of the assignment I gave general information about the movie such as the title, the tagline, and a brief summary of it. I also had to define a few words and list the characters and who their played by, and their roles.

Preliminary Exercise 11 - Genre Lighting Mind map Poster

The gerne of our intended film is spy thriller. The reason we picked this genre was because it has a lot of suspense, dim lighting, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Two themes associated with spy thrillers is espionage and you can never retire, not really. The tone of the film would be scared and anxious. Lastly, we would use hard lighting in our film to add some suspense.

Preliminary Exercise 9 - Camera Composition Storyboard Poster

The objective of the assignment was  for each student, in a group of four, to study two  compositional techniques and come back next class and teach it to the members of our groups.  A storyboard is a graphic organizer that consists of illustrations or images displayed in sequence. This is for the purpose of pre-visualizing a motion picture, animation, motion graphic or interactive media sequence. To complete this task my teammates and I had to come up with our own story for each frame. Then, with our teacher's permission we got a pass to go outside and make our storyboard come to life by taking pictures of each other.

The objective of the assignment was  for each student, in a group of four, to study two  compositional techniques and come back next class and teach it to the members of our groups. The experience of having my classmates teach me their techniques was very educational. Christina did "Friend Forever and "The Whole picture", Alani did "A Walk on Capus" and "It's My World", and Natalie did "Alone in a Crowd" and "I Run This". For "Alone in a Crowd" which was one of Natalie's Techniques, I learned that the camera only focuses on one person while the rest of the people in the back and blurred out.
